Prieuré d’Airaines

Founded in 1130, it was burnt down in 1422. Restored, it now houses a cultural centre. The buildings of the priory have been classified as historical monuments.

About

Adjacent to the conventual building (16th century) which hosts annual exhibitions of works by major 20th century artists (Alechinsky, Braque, Manessier, Miro, Soulages), the church of Notre Dame du Prieuré is the oldest religious monument in the department. The work of the architect François-Xavier LEGENNE will be presented from May 15 to October 02, 2022, on the theme: "Regards sur la Cathédrale Notre Dame d'Amiens". The opening of this exhibition will take place on May 14, 2022 at 17:00. A conference will be held on September 25, 2022 at 3:00 p.m., on the theme of new scientific techniques and the relic of the head of Saint John the Baptist. An organ recital will follow the lecture at 5:00 pm.
