Camp militaire et ses 7 scènes

A military camp will be set up at the Espace ludique de l?Argolide (opposite the aqu?ABB) from September 6 to 8, complete with tents and barnum. The camp will feature three themes and seven scenes:

The first stage will represent the Occupation, the Resistance and French life under the Occupation.
You'll find tables, chairs, shoes (wooden galoshes), propaganda posters and period newspapers.

The second stage will focus on the fighting, the stage and wartime equipment.
You'll discover a Long Range Desert Group Jeep SAS and mannequin SAS, camouflage netting, a British tracked tractor plane and an RAF flag.

The third scene evokes the Liberation of the population and prisoners.
On display will be a Signal Corps P.C., a divisional office, a detector case, a complete set of radios and telephone handsets, a roll of generator wire (gégéne), jute bags, protection bags, camouflage netting, a display of cameras and photographic equipment.

The fourth stage will be dedicated to the Liberation, and will feature fully-equipped Polish soldier dummies, the 10th Cavalry and their ornaments.

The fifth stage is dedicated to the Red Cross, with wheeled stretchers, stretchers, suitcases and Red Cross nurse dummies.

The sixth stage will feature a wrecked Half-track.

The seventh stage is dedicated to a field hospital.

IN PRACTICE
Official opening of the military camp: September 6 at 6pm.
Location: the camp is set up at the Espace ludique de l?Argolide, opposite the aqu?ABB.
Admission: free from 10am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Highlights: on the weekend of September 7 and 8, the Comité d?uvres Sociales de la Ville d?Abbeville will be running a refreshment stand and souvenir store.
