Being the only survivor of the 28 mills that made up the Airaines, the mill has its source in the blue soucres of Metigny.

The mill is located on the Airaines river, which rises in the soucres bleues of Metigny. The oil mill was built on the Airaines in 1638. The mill is accessible to all from the outside.
