The Porte du Moulinet, built in 1893, provided more direct access to the town center. Take the long, vaulted brick staircase up the hill, once home to 5 mills, and enjoy the panoramic view from the city's heights. Open every day - permanently open
The Porte du Moulinet was built in 1893 by Samuel Ricard, a former banker from Amiens on the site of an old mill, hence the name that was given to the gate. It allowed a more direct access to the town centre. In medieval style, a long vaulted brick staircase leads up to the hill that once housed 5 mills, and offers a breathtaking view of the heights of the city.
