ABBEVILLEThis gentleman from La Mancha is convinced that the world is populated by wandering knights and evil enchanters. Thus begins the world?s most famous epic, the best-known universal myth. As in his favorite books, this character wants to do justice and fight for his lady's honor. Accompanied by Sancho Pança, his faithful squire, he sets out on the roads of Spain. And here's our hero battling windmills, mistaking inns for castles and ugly peasant women for beautiful princesses!
In addition to the mythical duo's fine, comical dialogue, this is a lively, initiatory adventure performed by three actors. It is also the greatest work of the Spanish Golden Age, symbolizing an exceptional artistic revival to which our creation bears witness, and paying homage to the itinerant troupes and fairground barracks that roamed the roads in the 16th century.
A celebration of literature, fairground theater and dreams, this lively fantasy brings tears to the eyes and laughter to the ears!
Sancho - Where to now?
Don Quixote - Nowhere.
Sancho - Is it far?
Don Quixote - Everywhere!
Sancho - Yes, but the kingdom you promised me?
Don Quixote - Shut up, Sancho.
Sancho - I can't feel my legs! And I'm ravenously hungry.
Don Quixote - Are you hungry?
Sancho - Like a wolf.
Don Quixote - Go to sleep! Sleep is for dinner.
Sancho - Yes, but he who dines, sleeps even better!
